VFX &
Simulations

Fluid, cloth, smoke, fire and particle simulations at production scale. We create dynamic effects that bring physics and atmosphere to product, environment and film work.

What It Is

Physics you
can't fake
any other way.

Some effects cannot be keyframed. Fabric falling naturally. Liquid moving with physical accuracy. Smoke dispersing in a specific atmospheric condition. These require simulation — procedural physics calculated frame by frame.

We run production-scale simulations using Cinema 4D and X-Particles — one of the most powerful simulation tools available outside of dedicated VFX facilities. The results are photorealistic, art-directed and composited seamlessly into the final output.

Simulation is particularly powerful in luxury and beauty work — where the sensory quality of materials is part of the brand promise. Cloth simulation for fashion. Fluid simulation for fragrance. Particle effects for cosmetics. Each one communicates something about the product that static imagery cannot.

Simulation Types

What we
simulate.

Cloth & Fabric

Photorealistic fabric simulation — draping, folding, flowing and interacting with objects and air. For fashion, luxury and beauty work where material quality is the story.

Cinema 4D / X-Particles

Fluid & Liquid

Water, oil, perfume and abstract fluid — physically accurate liquid simulation for fragrance, cosmetics and product work where fluid communicates sensory value.

X-Particles FLIP

Smoke & Atmosphere

Volumetric smoke, mist, fog and atmospheric effects — adding scale, mood and environmental depth to product and environment renders.

X-Particles / Redshift Volume

Particles & Powder

Cosmetic powder, pigment, dust and scatter effects — highly art-directed particle simulations for beauty and luxury product work.

X-Particles

Fire & Destruction

Pyro simulations, combustion effects and rigid body destruction — for commercial, title sequence and narrative VFX work.

Compositing

All simulations composited in Nuke or After Effects — integrated seamlessly with 3D renders, live action and existing campaign assets.

Who It's For

Where it
makes the
difference.

Luxury & Beauty Brands

Fragrance, cosmetics and fashion — where fluid, cloth and particle effects communicate the sensory quality of the product.

Film & Commercial Production

Productions that need physics-accurate VFX — fire, destruction, atmospheric effects — composited into the final edit.

Product Launches

Consumer product launches where dynamic material effects — liquid pours, powder bursts, fabric reveals — dramatise the product moment.

Agencies & VFX Houses

Agencies and post houses that need specialist simulation capacity for briefs that exceed in-house capabilities.

FAQ

Frequently asked
questions.

Everything clients typically ask before commissioning VFX simulation work.

Fluid simulations (water, liquids, viscous substances), particle systems, cloth and soft-body dynamics, fire and smoke, destruction and rigid-body effects, and data-driven simulations such as flow fields and point clouds. We'll recommend the right simulation approach based on the visual goal.

Simulation work is compute-intensive — solving, caching and rendering take time that can't always be compressed. A focused simulation sequence of 15–30 seconds typically takes 3–5 weeks. Larger, multi-shot simulation work runs 6–10 weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline at brief stage.

Yes. Integrating simulated elements with live action — matching lighting, camera movement and grain — is a core part of our VFX compositing work. We use Nuke for precision compositing to ensure the simulation reads as part of the live plate rather than sitting on top of it.

Houdini is our primary simulation environment — it's the industry standard for effects work of this complexity. Cinema 4D's simulation toolset is well suited for medium-scale effects within larger 3D productions. Compositing is handled in After Effects depending on the project.

Physical accuracy starts with correct simulation parameters — viscosity, density, velocity, turbulence — matched to real-world reference. We gather reference extensively before simulating anything. The solver produces the motion; art direction shapes how it's lit, coloured and framed.

Simulation caches can be saved and re-rendered with different materials, lighting or camera angles — making them reusable assets. If you need a simulation library for ongoing use across campaigns, we can produce and hand over cached simulations as part of the deliverables.
